Authentic home style Russian cooking.

I admit that I was a little skeptical, but ... the food was excellent. One of the other reviewers wrote that it was like having a home-cooked meal delivered and that's exactly what it was like. I had the chicken pelmeni and the stuffed cabbage -- both were so good, I had to make myself slow down while I was eating (honest!). This is one of the best dinners I've had delivered since I moved down to FiDi three years ago. Must try!

Placed a large food order (almost $300). I was the only Russian person ordering, the rest were Americans. My reputation was on the line since people ordered at my suggestion. I was relieved when everyone enjoyed their food. I myself ordered "zharkoe" and liked it very much. Will order from Matryoshka again, no doubt.

I love the juicy tender chicken kebabs, and my wife seems to have developed a physical dependency on the borscht and the mushroom soup. We absolutely didn't expect to find such good Russian food in Manhattan. Now I finally have no reason to ever go to Brooklyn.

My husband and I LOVE this place. I'm Russian and this is by far the best Russian food in the city! Truly authentic. We've ordered 80% of the items on the menu and everything is delicious! Delivery guy is also very nice and friendly! Highly recommended!

Best food when you are in the mood for some home cooked Russian style potatoes with mushrooms. All food is quite authentic and better than a lot of Brooklyn restaurants. Delivery folks are always courteous and pleasant.
